Corpsecandle was formed in
1991 and started out as a three piece formation. In 1994 they recorded
there first demo 'Corpsecandle'. A five track fast thrash metal tape.
After two years of discovering the metal way to go the second demo 'Lethal Approach' showed out a solid thrash metal sound. Influenced by bands like Slayer, Kreator and more '80 metal bands. This was the first Excess recording. In 1998 Corpsecandle became a four piece formation while they were joined by a lead vocalist. In the same year they recorded in the Excess Studio in Rotterdam the cd 'In Healthy Sickness'. Through musical differences the band split up. In september 1999 the last gig was a fact. After a year gitarist/vocalist and founder of Corpsecandle Eelko continued the band with gitarist/vocalist Chris, former member of Cirith Gorgor and bass player Sander. In januari 2001 Arno joined Corpsecandle by playing the drums. Corpsecandle continued its course in playing fast thrash metal. Through the black metal roots of Chris and Arno the metal of Corpsecandle can now be discribed as fast melodic, agressive black/thrash metal. Besides new and some old songs (which are restyled) Corpsecandle plays a cover of Dissection: 'Unhallowed'. In march and april the five track mini cd 'An Encounter at an Infernal Empire' is recorded in again Excess. Within a year Corpsecandle did some intersting gigs with various bands like The Haunted, Extreme Noise Terror, Sinister, Flesh Made Sin.
